Snells beach is situated on the eastern coast of the Mahurangi Peninsula, about 8km from Warkworth. It was once known as Long Beach and Dalmation immigrants would live on the beach and dig for Kauri Gum. Snells Beach houses the mansion that used to house Governor Gray, as well as The Brick Bay Sculpture Trail, an outdoor gallery showcasing contemporary sculpture amongst native trees.
